BIGGEST thanks to my dear, dear friend Heather for blessing us with her gift. She captured what has become the most important day of our life in such a beautiful way. We are so grateful.

I've cried my way all through this post. We are so overwhelmed by this gift from God. He has been so good to us. We have the most beautiful, content, healthy little boy. More to come. Thank you all for your prayers.

today...

Today:
- 8 days to go (as if any son of mine will be on time ;) course he is Trevor's son too...
- Christmas music--check
- spent ALL day recovering the cushions on this glider i got. sigh, trying really hard to do it only using the fabric i already had that the house (no, it's not patchwork). almost there, maybe pictures tomorrow if you're good
- went on a walk with my pups--so pretty outside!
- made berry breakfast cobbler--yum!
- did laundry
- avoided cleaning

overall not a bad day. pretty good day. But then i got this email from Dad and Rex on what THEY did today...





yea...i might need a while to get over that.

Only at WalMart...

So, I'm picking up some shampoo at WalMart, standing in the aisle trying to decide, do i want moisture lock, color save or extra curls, when I notice this guy looking at me. He's about my age, somewhat redneckish but otherwise friendly looking. I make eye contact with my "can i help you" look and he walks over and says (with a glance down at my giant belly)...

"You look like you would know this...

... do you know where the pregnancy tests are?"


nice. thanks bud.

Rye's Monster Room

I'm still waiting on a couple of things before this room is "ready" but since Rye might get here before that happens (2 weeks and 1 day, but who's counting?). I figured I'd better go ahead and post some pictures of the Monster Room, as is.

So, without further ado.....I present, the monster room.

Crib "friends" the sleepytime bear (who plays sleepy music)--love his eyes that are 1/2 shut, and my monster, it's reversible on the other side is his other 1/2.

My talented friend Jenn Ross saw pictures of the monster above and made these adorable burp cloths to match...how cool is that?!
