Product pusher

3 products I'm loving right now.

#1 True North Pecan, Almond, Peanut Clusters. Oh these things are sooooooo good. Pretty expensive too (big sigh) but oh, so yummy.

#2 Vaseline Lip Gloss. As one of my bizarro pregancy side effects I became allergic to many/all ingredients in fun lip glosses/chapsticks etc. Trev's Dad (who's a doctor) got me some Vaseline lip gloss (since it's just petroleum jelly) and I'm hooked. Even post-baby this is my go-to lip care. I do think it's funny that they call it "advanced" because there's nothing in it but petroleum jelly and "flavor". Oh well, maybe it's an advanced flavor.

#3 Last but not least is the new Aveeno Active Naturals calming body wash. I used to be a fan of the Johnson and Johnson Calming body wash, but this Aveeno stuff far surpasses it. It. Smells. Amazing. Love it, love taking a shower. I need to find out if they have this scent in lotion too because that, would make my day.

7 months, 12 hours and 45 minutes

7 months:
yep, we have reached yet another milestone...closer to 1 year than birth. wow. what a big boy we have on our hands now....sigh...

New tricks include:
- Rolling, sliding and scooting all over
- sucking his thumb....more and more frequently
- eating a TON, veggies are still the meal of choice
- saying 'please' and 'thank you' with perfect pronunciation
(ha, just kidding, but take that all you baby comparers!)

12 hours
This my friends, is a big one. He has, for the past 3 nights, slept through the night....12 hours through the night. BIG NEWS! Huge. I'm talking go to bed at 7:45pm get up at 7:45am. WOW

45 minutes
This feat happened on Sunday, marking his first time in the church nursery. wow. big news, ok mainly for me, I'll admit. But still worth noting.

Don't worry, with all these changes he is still my silly-face-making baby. *(see below)

(notice Mom and Dad in the mirrored glasses)

There has also been a whole lot of father-son bonding.

how great are they?

That's the latest here. We are just chubbing right along. This post was kind of a collage of recent events. Of course I always have been one for the collages...

Mom o' the Day

So, this was my first mother's day and Trev and Rye made it uber-special. First of all, I got to sleep in a bit, then Trev made cinnamon rolls and scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast. And he got me a beautiful lily and a sweet you-are-a-great-mom card. It was lovely.

Then, we did my one request for the day. An art project with Rye. Yes, he's only 6 months but I wanted to tap into his artistic talent early so he has time to perfect his mad skills.

And the final result, which is now framed and hanging in the living room. Yea, couldn't resist.

I know, I know, but really, i think he had a great time and has some real potential! ;)

I couldn't resist. Yes, I stole this from Jenn's blog so all my peeps could see it.

Quote of the Day

"I'm a mom traveling with my kids, for me it isn't a vacation, its a business trip."

-from Jenn Ross's facebook status which indicates that it is from the show "Modern Family" but really i don't care where it's from, i just like it.

Red Bubble

Ok. Rye is 6 months. Trevor is home. Things have returned to "normal" so I am finally going to really start promoting my art. (insert big 'ok, we can do this' breath).

Step One: Red Bubble

Red Bubble is a great website that connects artists and allows them to sell cards, prints and posters of their art. So, you can hop on my site, browse my paintings, say, "Hey, I"d love to order a printed, wrapped canvas, or a greeting card of that beautiful piece o' art." So click, click and it's yours! Pretty cool, pretty cool indeed.

So I am officially "bubbling". You may notice the handy-dandy slideshow/link here on my blog and you are also more than welcome to (aka, please) checkout my site.

Soon I'll post Steps 2 and 3 which I'm already working on, so you can look forward to that but in the meantime please check out my bubbles. :)

These are the days, my friend...

My boys are still sick. So, Momma called the doctor and the doctor said....no more monkeys jumping on the bed!

This advice hasn't seemed to help that much, although I am enjoying not cleaning up as much monkey poo. ha!

Anyway, here are some pictures of Rye to brighten your day and get all you obsessive Rye-stalkers off my back! I've already got a monkey up there....too much? anyway....

These first two were taken by me with my camera phone on our "nature walk" right before Trevor was back. But for some reason I like them so here they are. Don't judge the quality please.

One of the new things in our house (besides the monkeys and the stomach bug) is that Rye has decided that he really loves the taste, and comfort of his thumb. I laid him down in bed the other day and he was wailing it out then remembered his thumb, popped it in his mouth and instantly calmed down. This brought on mixed feelings of "oh dear" and "well, that sure was nice"....we'll see how things progress.

Another new thing (have to live up to the blog's name after all) is the jumperoo that Heidi let us borrow. Rye loves it. He dances and plays and smiles at me across the room while sending me mental messages (you mean you don't communicated with your kids telepathically?) of "Gee, Mom this is a swell toy, I sure am enjoying it".

And to prove he's really my son (since apparently he looks exactly like Trevor)...here's a big, overly goofy grin...

that's my boy.

And...because i couldn't resist...cute baby dancing toes!

Being sick (yes, these pictures were taken while he was sick...see i told you he was the world's happiest baby...with the possible exception of Maddy...) anyway, being sick brings out his serious side...which we don't see too often so i was pleased to capture...

Oh Mr. Chubbers (his latest nickname which is a combination of Chubby Checkers which was his last nickname) I love you so.

4 is a very sad number

Allow me to explain.

1. Trevor
2. Me
3. Rye
4. Rye's stomach virus

Hence, 4 is a very sad number.

#4 snuck up on us Saturday morning and was going strong by Saturday night with a high fever (103) all night long, which had two worried parents calling pediatricians and making late night runs to WalMart for infant medicine. Good times. #4's fever finally broke Sunday am and we thought we were in the clear until Sunday night when the projectile vomiting started. Is there a more unfriendly statement then "projectile vomiting"? I submit that there is not.

So, that, on top of the fact that Trevor's flight back home had to make a 'medical emergency' stop in Denver, thus delaying them for 2 hours, thus making them miss their connection, thus our last minute trip to the Atlanta airport, thus waiting 3 hours at the airport for them to get through customs, cancel, their flight to Chattanooga (which they had already missed) and going through security twice to get their luggage, thus Rye taking a late nap at his regular bed time, thus waking up and wailing for the last 40 minutes of the drive back, thus messing up his bedtime, thus making it a late, frustrating night and then leading into Saturday morning and the arrival of # 4.

Perhaps the drama of getting Trevor home should be referred to as # 5. Thus changing the previous statement to: "4 is a very sad number, and 5 is just darn frustrating."

I think that about sums up our weekend. Sigh. Well things don't always go the way you think/hope they will, huh?

However, all that said. I can still revel in this statement: He is home.

Can I get an amen for that?
