3 is the happiest number

we've come to the final chapter...
at last, the moment has come...
this too shall pass...

Trevor will be home tomorrow.
At 5:00pm we will pick him up at the airport.
Tomorrow, he will be HERE.

The dogs have been washed. The floors have been cleaned. The furniture has been dusted. The laundry is done. The grass has been mowed. The front walk has been swept. The bushes have been trimmed. The trash has been taken out. Both our cars have been washed. 3 meals are prepared in the fridge. A welcome home present has been purchased. There are 3 bottles of wine on the shelves.
We are ready.

Mixed Veggies: Save me Dad!

for Trev, and the rest of you who love a good video of baby-cuteness.

p.s. make sure you didn't miss the part where i get the carrots out of his nose and wipe them on his face. Extra mom bonus points for that one for sure.....sheesh....

Take 6: Large and in Charge

Mr Rye had his 6 month checkup today. For those of you who don't know, that means they measure his head, his weight and his height(h, for trev). Then they tell you the percentile that he's in so you can worry if he's too big or too small. They don't offer it, but we asked because we are curious where our chunk-a-mundo ranks on the charts. And it turns out, he's almost off it. He was in the 95th percentile in each category. Ha! His head was 44 1/2cm (why do they do this one in cm when the others are all in inches?-weird), his height(h-haha) was 26 1/2" and his weight was 17lb and 15oz. That's our boy.

He's growing out of most everything these days, except his personality that is...
wink

wink.

Here are some examples of how that's evolving....

One other thing i have to mention because it's just as, if not more important....Trevor will be home in 4 days. I'll just let you bask in the glory of that statement.

Birthday Shoot

My dear friend Heather is so generous with her talents. While at my house for the birthday bash she graciously did a mini-session with my little Chubbers and me so Trev could have some sweet pictures of the two of us while he's gone. She gave me a tons of great shots, here are, in my opinion, are some of the best.
-enjoy-

Thank you so much Heather. You are such a talented sweetheart.

The HART of the matter...

While we were in VA over Easter Rye got to spend some quality time with his great grandparents, my Dad's parents.

His Great-Grandaddy explained to him the rules of being a Hart.
Rule # 1: When in doubt, make a joke.
Rule # 2: When in doubt assume the other Hart is joking.
Rule # 3: Poke fun at your Hart relatives (this is a sign of endearment).

His Great-Grammy explained one of her rules as well.
Rule; When you eat you eat, and when you play you play, and you don't mix the two together.
Of course technically she was breaking this rule at the time this picture was taken since she is playing with Rye at the dinner table...oops!

4 Generations of Harts, Rye, his Uncle Rex, his Grandaddy and his Great-Grandaddy.

More one-on-one time with Great-Grandaddy.

I think Rye was especially excited to have so much time with the guys. Since Trev's been expanding his empire it's been lots of time with the ladies for Rye. He was excited to have some male companionship. I was excited to have someone else to hold him for a change. Win-win.

Friends are friends forever...

This past weekend my dear friend Jenn came to visit. She and I were best friends in "high school." We had tons of fun getting into all sorts of "trouble." However our senior year her family moved back to WVa/Maryland and between college and marriage and living far away we just haven't been able stay in contact as much as we should have/would have liked.

Thankfully, we picked up where we left off and had a great weekend. We even fell into some of our old habits...such as buying the same clothes, taking pictures and making fun of Jeremiah (I'm kidding!).
Thanks for coming Jenn. I had a great time and miss you all the more.

Here are some "before" pictures of us in high school....

And, an "after" picture from this weekend.

It's nice to see that we turned out fairly "normal" after all those crazy "befores." Hehehee

For Trev...

Today:

8am: Rye awake

10:30am-11am: Nap

1:15pm-2:00pm: Nap

2:30-4pm: Attempts to get him to continue/take another nap

4:15pm: This sight...

It's now 5pm and he's up again....for the love...

p.s the camera jar and snickering at the end is because I walked into the door frame....of course.

Vicarious Travel

Here are some pictures Trevor took from Japan... I'm not going to try to explain where/what they are....if we are lucky Trevor might leave a comment explaining some of them.

They are all beautiful (great job taking the pictures Trev!) but the subject matter in this last one is my favorite...

Here's a pic Trevor took (via Skype) of Rye and me sans my nose. Silly sillies we are we are.
Happy Friday night everybody.
