The sights of Hawaii

We are leaving in 2 days for the tropical paradise, known as..... Hawaii.

We are flying into Honolulu where we will reside, rest, relax and surf (aka possibly die) before heading onto Kauai 3 days later.

Here is Waikiki beach where we are staying in Oahu...Kaley's really excited about learning all about the history of her namesake on this rich and glorious beach.

Once in Kauai, the fun really begins! Here is a sample of the tropical beauty of which we will be partaking...

Of course we will be sure to experience the "softer" side Hawaii has to offer as well...so far this involves scuba with sharks, wind surfing, regular surfing (as you see in the image below), hiking, biking and swimming too of course.

However the part I'm most excited about are the mermaids. Oh yes, it's true, the mermaid population in Kauai is one of the largest in the world. Over 2/3's of all mermaids originate from this island.

I've already booked us a tour on the "Under Water Merfolk Palace Adventure" a "must-see" for the mermaid officiando. Then there is the Sea-shell ritual when the young mermaid comes of age and her parents bestow upon her a sea-shell bearing her name in the color of her aura.--truly spectacular! We are in negotiations now to see if Kaley can be included in this ceremony as an adjunct mermaid. Fingers crossed!

Then there is the 3-hour seminar on the affect that global warming is having on the mermaid population. That is being led by non other than Sebastian! Most of you will remember him from his appearance in the Disney movie "The Little Mermaid".

So exciting to be able to use all my training in mermaid relations from school (and Dad thought those would never come in handy!) ha, well I'll let you know how it goes, hopefully my language isn't too rusty!

Opposite Day

There really isn't an appropriate introduction to this....just try to enjoy it...if you can.

If I was the moon...

If I was the moon I would stick my tongue out at people with telescopes, I mean that’s practically the same thing as paparazzi so I think it’s warranted.

If I was the moon I would like to be made out of rubber. That would surprise everyone…and when kids ask their mom what the moon is like, the moms could say, “Well sweetie, the moon is kind of like Gumby.” That would be cool.

This is Trev.

This is a good picture of Trev.

Eyes open--check.
Looking at the camera--check.
Smiling--check.
This is a miracle. Let's all bask in this glorious momment. Aaaah.

To even things out...

This COULD be Trev. In fact on occasion this HAS been Trev. Ok. well now things are even.

Picture this...

Happy Fathers Day--this is Trev's Dad--James Taylor--Dr. James Taylor to you! But we call him Jimmy. Ok, not really, we call him Dad...moving on...

Here's another keeper, this was taken on the lake last summer. I think I'm going to blow this one up and put it over the mantle. Definitely.

Here's another funny picture mom sent of me and Trev...haha look at us silly birds.

This picture captures the ideal scenario for our dogs. For Zoe it is ideal because she is swimming and chasing a ball, her 2 favorite things. For Mia this is idea because she is swimming and chasing Zoe, her 2 favorite things.

Here's a picture of me and Kate at our rendezvous a couple weeks ago. Kate is moving to Prague in a couple months to teach for 2 years. I will be renewing my passport soon.

Here's one of the latest. I covered a canvas with some material left over from the pillows I made for the living room. Thank goodness Heidi and I are so good with math! There are so many more opportunities when you have twice as much fabric as you need.

thank you, and good night.
