We are flying into Honolulu where we will reside, rest, relax and surf (aka possibly die) before heading onto Kauai 3 days later.

Here is Waikiki beach where we are staying in Oahu...Kaley's really excited about learning all about the history of her namesake on this rich and glorious beach.

Once in Kauai, the fun really begins! Here is a sample of the tropical beauty of which we will be partaking...

Of course we will be sure to experience the "softer" side Hawaii has to offer as well...so far this involves scuba with sharks, wind surfing, regular surfing (as you see in the image below), hiking, biking and swimming too of course.

However the part I'm most excited about are the mermaids. Oh yes, it's true, the mermaid population in Kauai is one of the largest in the world. Over 2/3's of all mermaids originate from this island.

I've already booked us a tour on the "Under Water Merfolk Palace Adventure" a "must-see" for the mermaid officiando. Then there is the Sea-shell ritual when the young mermaid comes of age and her parents bestow upon her a sea-shell bearing her name in the color of her aura.--truly spectacular! We are in negotiations now to see if Kaley can be included in this ceremony as an adjunct mermaid. Fingers crossed!
Then there is the 3-hour seminar on the affect that global warming is having on the mermaid population. That is being led by non other than Sebastian! Most of you will remember him from his appearance in the Disney movie "The Little Mermaid".

So exciting to be able to use all my training in mermaid relations from school (and Dad thought those would never come in handy!) ha, well I'll let you know how it goes, hopefully my language isn't too rusty!
