1 Year: Rye

Dear Rye,

On 10/22/10 you turned 1. You are now a whole year old! Wow! You can do all sorts of things now.

- Like pull up and walk around furniture.

- You can climb up stairs (which although nerve racking is quite an accomplishment).

- You can point out characters in your books.

- You can say mama, dada and bye-bye (when you feel like it).

- You can wave, high-five, pound it and your signature move "Tarzan."

- You make some hilarious faces (which you get from your mama) and an oh-so-irresistible sad face.

- You respond well (most of the time) to "no touch" "no throw" and your personal favorite "no hit."

- You give the most wonderful love pats, hugs and kisses that melt your mom and dad's hearts.

- You can also throw some lovely little tantrums and you sure know how to work the sympathy vote!

- You and Zoe are becoming best buds and you are even learning how to love and survive the mega-licking Mia.

- It makes mom and dad so happy now that you are able to interact more with your friends and seeing you play with them and your cousins is so much fun.

Your dad and I are so proud of you. We are excited to see your personality develop, to watch you learn new tricks and to see you grow in love and understanding. What a joy it is to be your parents!

You, our dear sweet Rye, are loved more than you will ever know. We are so proud of you and excited to see the unique person you will become. We are so thankful that God gave you to us and blessed us with the honor of being your parents.
