9 months

to celebrate Rye Pie's 9th month i will list 9 things that have happened this month.

1. on July 4th he was baptized, more pics to come on that

2. on July 6th he said, "Da-da"

3. in the last couple weeks he has cut his first teeth. he now has a grand total of.....2

4. this month he has decided that mom is his bestest friend and she gets all the good hugs. and boy are they good hugs, i'm talking wrap his arms around my neck, lean in for tight squeeze followed by a sweet pat-pat on the shoulder. oh man oh man do i LOVE those hugs.

5. this month Rye has realized that he has dogs and they are fun to pet and pull their (insert closest body part here).

6. Rye is a big fan of drinking water but NOT of sippy cups. he can't figure them out so we end up taking the lids off and he gets big gulps of water. 1/2 of the time they are followed by an immediate spit-fountain out of his mouth, the other 1/2 a contented swallow.

7. still no crawling or pulling up yet. he will push up on his hands but this is usually short lived and followed by a face down, arms out possum-style rest which prompts such comments as "is he ok?" and "um, i think...um...what is he doing?". silly boy.

8. rye's favorite song is Old McDonald had a Farm, preferably accompanied by his "old mcdonald book/glove/finger puppet" toy.

9. Rye can count to 10 in 3 languages! Actually almost 4 but he's having a bit of a hard time with the Arabic.

note: he's also learned how to wave, high-five and give kisses this month. for some reason i forgot to mention that earlier. oh well. there it is.
