this is my handle, this is my...

the story...

ok, 2 years ago we went down to the Keys with Trev's parents. They have a time share down there so we've been able to go a couple times (and actually head down there again in 3 weeks).

Anyway, we took their boat down there and most days went out and toured around the various keys. One day it looked like it might rain but we figured we'd go out for a bit before it started.

We'd been out probably under an hour and we saw these crazy storm clouds forming. Then they started swirling around so we stopped the boat to watch. Then...they started forming a funnel. Then they started whipping the water around on the surface of the sea. Then we watched in amazement as a funnel of water formed right before our eyes (we were about 1/2 mile away sitting in the boat watching it).

Apparently when a tornado is over the water it's called a water spout (not nearly as impressive sounding) but very cool to see. We finally convinced the guys that maybe we should enjoy this amazing sight from a bit farther away. So we started heading away from the big, scary, dark cloud when we realized that ANOTHER water spout was forming on the other side of us! Of course we didn't have our cameras with us at the time (actually when we got back we remembered that Trev had his camera phone, but too late at that point). So we scooted on out of there as quick-like as possible and as soon as was safe headed back to the condo.

We looked up the local paper the next day and got these pictures. All of the water spouts are actually on the water, since the keys are so narrow it looks like in some of the pictures they are over the land, but it's just deceiving you.

crazy!

here you can see where there where 2 of them, at one point there were between 3-4 at a time! picture us in the boat in between these two. CRAZY!

2 of them seen here too...

this is a cool shot of one of them forming and going down to the water

alright, well there's the story folks. enjoy!

That is crazy! I always think I'm going to see that anytime I see a storm cloud I always look for funnels.
Speaking of rain, or showers, Is someone throwing you one? If so when? like that transition

Thats so cool. Dan and I are both jealous. Dan wants to know if it was loud and if you cried?
