Well, today was one of those unusual days where i came home at lunch. Even more unusual was that Zoe was not there to greet me. Mia was there (it's usually opposite). Usually Mia is off wandering and Zoe is hanging at the house. Oh well i thought, she's probably just playing with her dog friends. Anyway so i told Mia to go find Zoe and tell her i missed her at lunch.
fast forward 4 hours.
Trev got home, didn't see Zoe.
Fast forward another hour and 1/2.
I got home, we confirmed that Zoe'd been missing since this morning.
Begin the search.
I hit the trail (there's a trail that runs behind our house), Trev drove around the neighborhood and we called our neighbors to see if anyone had seen her.
Fast forward another hour.
Heidi brought some pizza over for us and to see if she could help. We heard a dog barking off of in the woods, but we'd been calling for so long we'd already gotten all the neighborhood dogs riled up.
Meanwhile...
Trev hears what he thinks is Zoe barking, he circles and then pulls over as close as he can get to her then starts hiking.
This is what he sees:

He follows the sound of her barking (kind of like on 101 Dalmatians...) and finally sees a partially covered 10 foot hole/shaft/well/death-trap and inside, is our frantic but unhurt poor Zoe.
here's the hole, now uncovered

It's hard to tell how deep it is since you can' t see the bottom, here's Trev in the hole for reference:

So, thankfully I married a tall, strong man who was able to climb in the 10 ft hole, and lift Zoe over his head and out of her captive cell.
THANK THE LORD that Zoe was unhurt and that Trev found her. Trev says that the hole was covered over with some ply wood and Zoe must have walked over it and fell through. It was amazing that she didn't hurt anything, other than her nerves after spending at least 8 hours in there. Poor Zoe, poor, poor Zoe.
Here's a picture of Trev and our oh-so-happy-to-be-out Zoe.

And here's a shot of how dirty Trev got in the rescue. Alternate title for this picture is: Trev's cute butt. :) heheheheee

Well, that about wraps up our Monday night. You never know WHAT's going to happen at the Taylor's house.
We are just happy to have the whole gang back and safe.
