this just in...

Bonjour friends.

Fun game time.

I am stealing Becky's idea and posting my own...

the rules:
write 5 "beliefs" or rules you live by and you are not aloud to get serious or preachy, political or religious! These are just for fun.

1. I believe in sleeping until the very last minute.
2. I believe that Amy Grant will be my best friend in heaven.
3. I believe that blue is the best color in the world.
4. I believe in acting unusual just for the sake of acting unusual.
5. I believe in having the time ofyour life, all the time.

Spring has Sprung

Proof:

as visible from our driveway:

Spring has Sprung in Chattanooga ladies and gentlemen. So how are we celebrating? By going skiing in Idaho of course. Bring on the cold, we'll be coming home to warm. Amen to that my friend. Amen to that.

Bob & Marie

My window at work over looks Market St and a couple of trees that line the road. Recently I have had the pleasure of watching two love birds (sparrows to be exact) build their nest right outside my window (I'm only charging them a small surveillance fee). I was very excited about this and Sarah (my coworker who's adjacent office also can view the bird family) have been diligently keeping watch over their nest for them while they collect twigs, string, food etc.

I have named the bird couple Bob & Marie.

Here's Bob and Marie snuggling in their nest

Here's one of Bob keeping lookout while Marie tends to the nest...

And here.....is why this story has become a suspense instead of a drama....

our very unwelcome visitor.....

(seriously, same tree--great picture huh? no photoshopping here, this is an actual live hawk that is preying on the neighborhood)

Sarah and I check in at least once a morning to make sure that "Danger" as I've named the hawk, is leaving Bob & Marie alone.

So far, so good.

However, the other morning I heard a ruckus and looked out the window just in time to see a little bird fly by with Danger right on his tail! (literally, get it?) ok, this was bad. BAD. So Sarah and I ran to the back office window (with a view down the street) and met up with David (70 year old man who works with the supplies for the building). He confirms, in gross unnecessary details our fears, because right outside his window (mom, you might want to skip this part...) the hawk caught the bird (WAS NOT BOB OR MARIE) in his giant talons. The bird was a pigeon and we have decided that he was an evil pigeon that was tormenting young children and he had malice in his heart and thus deserved his fate. (ok, so that just makes us feel better, whatever).

YIKES! We did see Bob & Marie later that day so we confirmed that they were ok (our chief concern) and although disgusted/intrigued and grossed out by the murder we witnessed we felt somewhat better about Bob and Marie being ok.

So, now we have had to step up our watch since we know what Danger is capable of.

Then a couple of days ago Danger, who seems to be flaunting his power in our faces (really what could we do, the stupid windows don't open!) anyway, Danger flew up into OUR tree with his latest catch. Don't worry, it wasn't Bob or Marie and it wasn't even a bird this time...it was a rat. Gross. We caught some pictures of this massacre, so if you aren't gory-shy check them out...

Well, Trevor is totally jealous that I get to see such awesome things from my window at work. See here for another example you may have missed.
I on the other hand, am very worried about Bob & Marie. Only time will tell, but in the meantime, we keep on keeping an eye out for our fair feathered friends.

flashback

Guess how we celebrated Heidi's birthday last weekend?

oh yea! However, the Smiths and Rowes weren't able to make it to the skate party...but that didn't stop us from having a wonderful time (although we did have a moment of silence to lament their absence). Here are some pics of our wonderful blast from the past...a skate party.

Here they are lacing up...you might ask what i was doing, well you see being the sophisticated skater i am, i had brought my own roller blades (yes, Jenn, they are the ones from back in the day ;) so i was all ready to go and able to capture this great shot. hehehehe

Here's Heidi Jean, the skating queen!

the girls, cheesing it up...

Of course not everyone was enjoying it as much....

No, seriously folks (said in talk-show-host voice), we had a great time. If it wasn't for all of those slow 5 year olds we could have really had some fun...well enough about that. Here's the glory shot of the birthday girl...
